Established in 1997. (Original foundation was 1912.). Mitsui Chemicals is one of major chemical companies in worldwide. Turnover in 2019 is 11.1 billion €. Numbers of employees are 17,743 globally. Among them, we have about 3,100 employees and 28 affiliate companies here in Europe. Main business areas are automotive, healthcare, food & packages, basic materials, and next generation business. Our main business activities are
production and sales for chemical products and resins mainly, and we have started the following business in the next generation business sector after we established “Robot Materials Business Development Division” four years ago.
1. Development and production of robot parts which relate to the topics of lightweight and the improvement of softness contributing to a safety and a reducing energy consumption based on our polymer knowledges.
2. Providing solutions to the robot industries by utilizing our value chains (material design, process design, CAD/CAM design, mold design, prototyping, low volume – high volume production, evaluation & validation).
Core competence of Mitsui Chemicals is that we have many varieties of polymers such as polyurethane and polyolefin and we have the material technologies which can control and design these materials density or modulus freely. We are providing optimised plastic components and solutions to robotic industries based on our core competence.
